![]() ![]() The only problem I ever had with it in Big Sur was with flags. But for any bulk operations, you just have to be patient and gentle. It's just 20 years of hacks on top of hacks. I agree with you about Mac Mail… I far prefer it to any other mail app I have used… which is why I am so keen to get it working properly.Īpple Mail is definitely the most "useable" of e-mail clients. Progress dialogs are fabrications, assuming they even exist. The problem is Mail's bulk downloading and indexing. What would you suggest? Whichever Exchange mail app I use is going to affect the rebuild isn't it? That's good news! If I use Outlook desktop running as my go to email app for the next week, will that slow down Mac Mail doing the rebuilding (considering it will be syncing etc)? ![]() ![]() My iMac is a late 2019 model with a 1TB SSD and 64gb RAM The Etrecheck developer has responded earlier and if he is still watching, may see something installed that is causing the conflict. One thing you can do is run Etrecheck, give it full disk access, and post the results here using the Additional Text button below. I would encourage you to examine your specific configuration, including other items installed, for the possibility of a conflict that became impactful when the upgrade occurred. I recall seeing a few complaints about things that happened during the mandatory upgrade to Big Sur but none about the MS-Exchange not working. We all moved form Catalina to Big Sur some time ago and everyone uses MS-Exchange here for email and for calendar. We have thousands of Macs where I work - they are all kept lock step on the same MacOS, presently that is still Big Sur while some institutional tools are updated to enable us to move to Monterey. I refer to my original observations… Mail was working just fine tin Catalina… not so in Big Sur and that OS is the only thing that has changed. I can see from these forums that I am far from alone… has anyone found a solution to this thoroughly annoying problem? Post Big Sur its awful with the Exchange account only but works fine for the other email accounts I use… a Yahoo, a G-Mail and iCould mail account. To re-iterate… before Big Sur, it was working 100% correctly. That doesn't always work but when it does the app seems to work with the Exchange account ok for maybe half an hour and then it goes back to behaving badly again. On my iPad, iPhone and MBP it still checks mail every 5 minutes and is consistent with the content across all of those devices but the iMac will pick up emails intermittently and often I will have to force quit the Mail app or rebuild the mailboxes to get mails to download. I upgraded my 2019 27" iMac to Big Sur recently (I was using some graphic design 3D software that was previously only working in Catalina) and now my Mac Mail is not syncing properly with my Exchange account. My Mac Mail was working fine across all devices: iMac, iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro. ![]()
